Dr. Beth Anderson grew up in the Dallas Area graduating from Bishop Lynch High School. She became interested in Optometry after seeing a special program on preventable blindness throughout the world. Having a high prescription herself, she could empathize how difficult life would be without vision correction. She has since traveled to Honduras for a medical mission trip providing eyecare for those most in need.

Dr. Anderson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University and Summa Cum Laude at the University of Houston College of Optometry, at which she served as commencement speaker for the graduating class. She then went on to practice at a major surgical center in Southlake Texas prior to opening Wylie Eye Center in 2009.

Dr. Anderson is active in the community and enjoys working with the Wylie ISD nurses to improve vision screenings in our schools. She loves participating in career days as an opportunity to share her passion of optometry. In her spare time Dr. Anderson loves to play basketball and spend time with her husband, son and new baby.

Dr. Royster is a Wylie local and graduated from Wylie High School. He developed an early interest in Optometry, having a great-grandmother who was blind and a family history of other eye diseases. After graduating from A&M, Dr. Royster went to the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Cole Vilhauer was born and raised in Frisco, Texas. Growing up he always wanted to be a doctor. In elementary school, he received his first pair of glasses. Which was an eye-opening experience that would impact the rest of his life. After talking and working with his local optometrist in Frisco, whom he saw regularly for his significant nearsightedness, he decided that optometry was the profession that was meant for him.

He attended Texas Tech University where he graduated with Honors and a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science. During his undergraduate years in Lubbock he worked for a local ophthalmologist and optometrist, gaining invaluable experience that solidified his career choice. He was also highly active in the Phi Kappa Psi gentlemen's fraternity and the Honors college. Dr. Vilhauer then attended and graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry, fulfilling his long sought-after goal. During his tenure at UHCO Dr. Vilhauer was heavily involved in the Texas Optometry Association and in supporting optometry legislation in Texas. Which he also plans to continue throughout his career. He also completed clinical rotations at a private group practice in Houston practicing full scope family optometry and at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he served the Cherokee Nation population and was exposed to a high level of ocular pathology.

Dr. Vilhauer’s primary interest is in general family practice, as he really enjoys developing a good relationship with his patients and addressing all of their concerns. He is also proficient in fitting specialty contact lenses and treating ocular disease. Dr. Vilhauer currently lives in Frisco, Texas with his cat, Skittles, and enjoys sports, movies, filmography, and spending time with family and friends.

Amazing service by Jacob and dr. Humphries I was very impressed with how they handled by 3 children all under the age of 6! I used to go to a kids ophthalmologist in frisco but I am so thankful I found somewhere closer! Very impressed with their process and their care for my children! They were timely and efficient!

Eye Center of Murphy makes annual eye exams AND any emergency exams needed (although hopefully not too frequently!) so easy to deal with. Dr. Suzanne Ferenczhalmy, and all of medical staff here, are also deeply knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and have a soothing presence. Which is a huge win and comfort to come across in any medical practice! But, ultimately, I stand firm behind the notion that an establishment is only as good as its front desk/support staff, i.e. the people keeping the business organized, walking you through your assinine insurance policy, working with EVERYONE'S schedule, and so much more. It is safe to say that Christian and Esosa, captains of the front desk at Eye Center of Murphy, are very much perfect reflections up at the FoH of the professional and comforting experience you can expect in the Back of House. They are both super helpful, kind, and personable. They're thorough in communication, helping to place orders, and efficient in all ways possible. 5 stars for certain, I'd give more if I could.

I have been a patient at this practice for a while, and I am consistently impressed with the compassionate and detailed care I receive from the ophthalmologists and the entire staff. Every visit is a reminder of why I trust them with my eye care. Today, however, my experience was so exceptional that I had to write this review, specifically to commend Cherrelle at the front desk. She took the time to truly listen to my questions and concerns. She demonstrated a remarkable level of understanding regarding my unique vision needs and my personal situation. Cherrelle was incredibly knowledgeable and patiently walked me through all the information I needed to make informed decisions about my lens options and how they worked with my insurance. It was clear that her priority was not just to get through a transaction, but to ensure I had the best possible experience and received exactly what I needed. Her thoughtful, affable, and human-centered approach was so refreshing and deeply appreciated. Thank you to the whole team for always being fantastic, and a special thank you to Cherrelle for going above and beyond today. It's people like her that make this practice truly outstanding.

After having a crazy day when I arrived for my 4:00 appt and was checking in I mentioned to the ladies at the front, I’m a little shaky I just realized I haven’t eaten, one of the ladies hands me a natures bakery bar in less than 5 seconds. This isn’t taught customer service, this is hiring compassionate individuals. - first star. The technician who did my initial assessment was extremely kind and patient with me, while I’m sneaking bites of the bar. - second star. Dr. V took time to ask me questions and listened. - third star. During my visit with Dr. V, he really educated me on what I was experiencing and even suggested what might help me to see better during long days in front of a computer screen. - fourth star. And lastly Ryan made picking out glasses easy, was honest about some of my choices and found other color options for the style I chose that weren’t on display. Additionally as someone who normally orders cheap glasses online, he did not pressure me but gave me options with insurance and I found a pair of Pradas with additional desktop feature for only $100 OOP, not far off from what I was paying online that don’t come with expert fitting. - fifth star. What an amazingly ran efficient office with stellar customer service. Would recommend.

It had been years since I visited Eye Center of Murphy, but I’m glad I made the effort to come back. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for. Not only do they provide exceptional eye care exams, but their dedication to customer service truly sets them apart. During my visit, there was a minor hiccup with my frames, but the way they handled it was truly professional. They addressed the issue promptly and ensured that everything was made right. Mistakes happen, but it’s rare to find a business that takes accountability and goes the extra mile like they do. I left feeling confident in my care and incredibly valued as a customer. If you're looking for a trustworthy, professional, and compassionate eye center, look no further than Eye Center of Murphy. Going forward, this will be my one and only eye care provider.
